Welcome to my first BLOG POST! This week, I took a look at my Carpet floor in Village One. It looks like it has a circular pattern that ends in a curve that almost looks like a target.
One thing I noticed when I took a picture of this particular piece of carpet was the defined eye on the top left. Has kind of an ancient feel and the eye of a totem. It shows a ton of expression more like an angry or moderate face.
In My Drawings, I tried to make a representation of the eye into some sort of creature represented in a totem. I also thought I could create life such as a snake, and a plant. It could represent beauty and strife. With the thought of a Target Or Circle in mind, I made a hat that did not come out too well but maybe could give a pattern that represents wealth. The shield would also be referenced by the circles in the carpet with the sign of prestige I believe.
Origins Of The Character: Two creatures used to walk the Earth centuries ago, a monster named the Grouch. The Grouch “Grumpy” was a bipedal creature that had a blocky shape, very tough gray fur, upset facial features, and two large eyes. It was quite intelligent and was discovered by the Aztecs and was killed and sold to manufacture shields as well as it was made into clothes. The Grouch to the Aztecs was called “La Piedra Gruñona” meaning “The Grumpy Stone” and went extinct in the 1700s.
The second creature that used to walk the Earth centuries ago, The Russians called the creature Svireppy “Ferocious” which was a type of Snake that was super aggressive, smart, fast, and had a ridiculous deadly poison that could kill a human in minutes. It had these defining scales that were noticeable on its plain body which gave any Russian fear when seeing it. Originating in Russia, it eventually went extinct in the 1800’s. If you killed the Svireppy, the skin meant a sign of power.
